Krishnendu Das, a seventh-grade student, committed suicide by consuming poison after being falsely accused of stealing a packet of chips!!

Krishnendu Das Incident:-

Krishnendu Das -‘Mom, I am telling you that I did not steal the packet of chips. I picked it up next to the shop….’

Krishnendu Das, a seventh-grade student, had gone to the market to buy chips. Civic volunteer Subhankar Dixit has a shop in the area, and Krishnendu went to that shop. Krishnendu called his family repeatedly, but did not get a response from the shopkeeper. Seeing the packet of chips lying outside the shop, Krishnendu picked up the packet. While returning home, the shop owner, Subhankar, chased the minor on his motorbike. He caught Krishnendu and accused him of stealing.

He allegedly made him sit up by the ear in a crowded market and beat him up. Krishnendu’s parents further alleged that they also paid the price of the chips to Subhankar. Even then, the harassment continued. A seventh-grade student committed suicide by consuming poison over a false accusation of stealing a packet of chips. One of his letters contains his name, class, and roll number! And his statement, ‘Mom, I am telling you that I did not steal the packet of chips. I picked it up next to the shop….’

The question arises—
How did Shubhankar Dixit, a civic volunteer, take the law into his own hands? Why did he publicly insult a minor in the market? Where was the restraint, where was the sense of justice? How much lower will society go?

The accused, Shubhankar, is not willing to show the CCTV footage. Silence is his only response. But Gonsaiber is not silent—the tone of protest is increasing.

I want punishment! I want justice!”—the locals are roaring.

Krishnendu is no more today.

His last cry remains—
Mother, I did not steal…
