India-Pakistan Tension: India to Pakistan WhatsApp help- To allow people to use WhatsApp at home, they were handing out OTPs using Indian phone numbers.
A YouTuber was taken into police custody for spying for Pakistan in India. Seven people have also been arrested by the police in Assam. It is claimed that they supported Pakistanis in chatting through WhatsApp by supplying them with OTP codes from India. Officers of the Special Task Force of Assam Police have arrested 7 individuals. The Army and Assam Police launched Operation Ghost in Assam, as part of a national movement to combat cybercrime.

The investigation is now underway, according to DG Harmeet Singh of the Assam Police, as a result of Gajraj Military Intelligence’s intel information. In a conversation with ANI, he stated, “According to Gajraj Military Intelligence, there were several individuals involved who were sending One-Time Passwords to Pakistan so Pakistanis could open WhatsApp accounts using Indian numbers.”
He also pointed out that technical analysis had been carried out over the previous days. OperationGhostSIM was launched on May 14th, the STF confirmed the case on the 14th of May, and launched OperationGhostSIM. A group was sent to Rajasthan and Hyderabad under that operation. Seven people were arrested in the afternoon of the 16th May. A few of the criminals were arrested in Bharatpur and Alwar, as well as one at Guwahati airport. The SIM cards were misused by criminals for both online offenses and against the nation. Pakistan accessed WhatsApp on these numbers, as the information was sent to them.

It is also understood that a gang in Assam is involved in selling fake, unregistered SIM cards to Pakistani agents. An investigation was started by the STF in accordance with Sections 18 of the UAPA Act and 66 of the Information Technology Act.
Meanwhile, 6 of its spy agents, including 1 female, were arrested in Punjab-Haryana. It has been reported that YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra visited Pakistan in 2023. Jyoti travelled to Delhi to apply for a visa at the Pakistan High Commission in order to obtain a visa. She also met Ehsan-ur-Rahim, alias Danish, an employee of the Pakistan High Commission. Danish had made it possible for Jyoti to visit and wander around in Pakistan. The YouTuber was taken into custody for allegedly smuggling key India-related data to the ISI.
